What to do...
Suffolk in general and this area in particular have a lot to offer the visitor. This is one of the most unspoilt counties in England and amongst the least populated. It is also the driest and sunniest county in the UK. The village of Chelsworth (described as the prettiest village in England) and the Brett river valley it lies in, are at the heart of the area of medieval wool villages with thatched cottages, timber-framed houses, old churches, winding country lanes, water meadows and gently rolling hills so loved by visitors. The villages of Lavenham, Kersey and Chelsworth are perhaps the best known, but other villages such as Monks Eleigh, Brent Eleigh, Kettlebaston, Lindsey, Boxford, Polstead, Stoke-by-Nayland, Nayland are equally charming with a wealth of thatched medieval houses, ancient churches etc.
